What precautions are taken to secure my personal information?

Print?
Security from the Ground Up
MeAndMyCaregivers.com was written with an integrated security system at its core. On every page of the site, information security is the primary consideration.

Your caregiving information is available to you via the Internet, but highly secure; just as online banking and online stock accounts are available via the Internet but secure and only accessible by you using a user ID and password. Each member account has multiple encryption to protect your record at all times.

SSL (Secure Sockets Layer)
MeAndMyCaregivers.com utilizes SSL, the standard security technology for establishing an encrypted link between a web server and a browser. This link ensures that all data passed between the web server and browsers remain private and integral. SSL is an industry standard and is used by millions of websites in the protection of their online transactions with their customers. The complexities of the SSL protocol remain invisible to your customers. Instead their browsers provide them with a key indicator to let them know they are currently protected by an SSL encrypted session - the lock icon in the lower right-hand corner, clicking on the lock icon displays the SSL Certificate and the details about it. All SSL Certificates are issued to either companies or legally accountable individuals.

Encryption
In addition to the SSL protocol mentioned above, MeAndMyCaregivers.com also utilizes custom database encryption. All sensitive medical information stored in the MeAndMyCaregivers.com databases is encrypted using a custom implementation of a military grade security algorithm. Sensitive data submitted through the web site can only be retrieved through the web site.

Why can't I see a feature that the help system says should be there?

It is possible for individual care-receivers and their agents to set their own level of privacy regarding their information. The care-receiver who you are evaluating has probably disabled access to that feature for your user group.

Why is it important to keep daily caregiving records?

Effective caregiving depends on keeping a lot of information up-to-date and in good order. Recording daily information gives you a better picture of the condition of the care-receiver and allows you to respond quickly to their always changing situation.

What is the best way to keep daily caregiving records?

Some clients prefer to keep a daily paper journal, while most prefer to keep an online journal. We offer both: paper and online. If there are out of town family members, the online option works best. Most importantly, keep the records up to date.
